Quentin Davis Farlow

ARCHDALE-Quentin Davis Farlow, 97, passed away on April 26, 2017.

 He was born on January 27, 1920 in Randolph County to the late Mae Davis Farlow and C M Farlow. A resident of this area all of his life, he served in the US Army, during WW II, and he retired after 60 years of service from the U.S. Postal Service, After retiring from the Postal Service he continued working as a salesman for LA Motors.  Quentin was always smiling and happy to tell you an encouraging word or joke, he enjoyed fishing, country music, bluegrass, playing his guitar and collecting and working on old cars; especially driving them fast and he was affectingly known as “Lightning”. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and was an avid supporter of “Host Racing” a flat track motorcycle team.  His true love and passion was spending time with his family.  On February 6, 1949 he married the love of his life Betty Jo Rush. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his brother, Mack Farlow and his sister, Virginia Carrier.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife Betty Rush Farlow and his son Rick Farlow.

A service to celebrate Quentin’s life will be held on Friday, June 16, at 11:00 am, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with Reverend Roger Carmichael officiating. Entombment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Mausoleum, with military honors accorded by the Randolph County Honor Guard. His family will receive friends on Thursday, June 15, from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend thanks to his special caregiver Vickie Johnson, the GrayBrier Nursing Staff and special CNA Frances Marlow for all the loving care they provided.
