High Point– Randall Albert Samuels, 76, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 16, 2023, at his residence.
Mr. Samuels was born November 1, 1947, in High Point, North Carolina to the late Paul Odell Samuels and Frances Latta Samuels. They both preceded him in death.
Randy is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Sconyers Samuels, his four children, Robert “Brent” Samuels (Mary), Melanie Samuels Gardner (Greg), Frances Samuels Gibhardt (Justin), and Russell Walbert Samuels (Holly); eleven grandchildren, Mary Caitlin (Alex), Conor, Maddy, Sam, Ellie, Hollyn, Kate, Millie, Wyatt, Whitaker and Weston; one sister, Vikki Samuels Hall (Mike); two brothers, Larry Samuels and Gary Samuels (Karen); as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Randy’s family was the center of his life.
Randy was a star basketball player in his day, an avid sports (especially Carolina Tarheels) fan and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was adored by his family. Graduating from High Point College in 1970, Randy went on to have a successful career in the textile industry. He retired from Culp, Inc. in 2015, with a lasting admiration for his work family. Randy’s amazing wit, great taste in music, sense of style, and kindness will leave a void in our lives. He was the consummate southern gentleman who knew how to show his love for his friends and his family.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Monday, November 20th at 2pm. The Reverend Willis Greene will officiate at the service.
