Rev. Walter Willard Kiser, age 78, husband of Sylvia Jones Kiser, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022.
Born in Roanoke, Virginia, he was a son of the late Henry Rucker Kiser, Sr. and Anne Marshall Kiser. Pastor Kiser or “PK” as many people knew him, was a minister in the Wesleyan church for 40 years serving in various churches and areas of ministry. He was on staff at Bales Wesleyan of Jamestown for the last 25 years of his ministry. He was known for his compassion and unwavering desire for all to know Jesus and to feel God’s love. He will be remembered as a humble servant of God, a beloved husband, father, and papaw. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, Rev. Kiser is survived by four sons, Chris Kiser (Kasey), Aaron Kiser (Karin), Jonathan Kiser, and Joel Kiser (Crystal); five grandchildren, Lauren Hall (Ryan), Jordan Kiser (Sarah), Savannah Kiser, Will Kiser, and Reef Kiser; five great grandchildren, Emma, Ryatt, Anthony, Ford, and Crew; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Henry Rucker “Pat: Kiser, Jr.; and a sister, Peggy Stone.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262 conducted by Rev. Carl Pulliam with a private family burial to follow in Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery in Thomasville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
