HIGH POINT-Richard Lee James, 73, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019.
He was born on November 13, 1945 in Greensboro, to the late Caris and Mackie Gallman James. He worked for Thomas Built Buses and retired after 17 years of service. Richard enjoyed his guns; especially going to the shooting range, and watching NASCAR. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years; Betty Holliday James; his daughters, Ellen Parlow and Tracy Barber (Jeff); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Parlow, Katey Massingale, Drew Parlow, Sarah Parlow, Anna Barber and Abby Barber.
A service to celebrate Richard’s life will be held on Tuesday morning, August 27, at 11 o’clock, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Reverend Dr. Steve Chipps officiating. A committal service will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville. His family will receive friends Tuesday morning, August 27, from 9:45 until 10:45, at the funeral home.
