Rickey Eugene Higgins

Rickey Eugene Higgins, age 49, went home to be with his Lord Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017.

Born in High Point, N.C. on September 23, 1968, Rickey was a lifelong area resident. Rickey attended Ragsdale High School, and worked for much of his life in carpentry and dry wall. He loved playing music, singing and muscle cars, but his true joy was found outdoors. Rickey was an avid hunter and fisherman, a love he shared with family and friends. He and his wife, Sherri, recently celebrated 30 years of marriage in September, and share two daughters and three granddaughters – he was hopelessly surrounded by girls.

Rickey is survived by his wife, Sherri McMahan Higgins, of the residence; daughter Jessica Higgins, of Archdale; daughter Taylor Higgins and fiancé Charlie Caslin; granddaughters Payton, Rylee and McKenzie, all of Archdale; brothers William Higgins, Michael Higgins and Rodney Higgins; and numerous special friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Sue Higgins; father, Wade Higgins; and maternal grandmother, “Granny” Blanche Hughes.

The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 17, at Cumby Funeral Home in Archdale. Services will be held at Cumby Funeral Home in Archdale at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, Pastor Carl Sutton will officiate.
