Robert Franklin Morton, 91, of Archdale entered into his heavenly home on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from Graybrier Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Robert was born April 8, 1927 in Guilford County to the late John Morton and Viola Morris Morton. He was preceded in death by all four of his siblings.
He was a loving husband and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Robert was a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in High Point. A true “jack of all trades” Robert could fix or work on anything. He enjoyed helping other when he could. He had served in the Merchant Marines. He made his career in the Textile Industry with Burlington Industries for over 40 years.
Those who will cherish his memories are, his loving wife of 72 years, Mary T. Morton, sons; Donald R. Morton and wife Patti of Virginia, Tim Morton and wife, Judy of Kernersville, Chris Morton and wife, Joyce of High Point, grandchildren; Scott Morton (Christine), Holly Lewis (Justin), Jeff Morton (Laura), John Robert Morton (Samantha), six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Robert’s life will be 12:00 pm on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at The Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, 206 Trindale Road in Archdale. A private burial will follow at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 11:45 prior to the service.
