Robert Paul Schultheis, Jr. passed away on April 18, 2023. He was 91 yrs old. Bob was born in Fort Wayne, IN to Dr. Robert P. Schultheis and Mildred Moellering Schultheis. He served in the US Coast Guard, attended Indiana University and graduated from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL. He worked in management for many years with Union Camp Corp and later with International Paper when the two companies merged. Bob and his family were transferred from Lakeland to Jamestown, NC in 1965.
Bob was predeceased by his wife, Merlyn O’Dell Schultheis, his parents as well as his two brothers, Dr. Roland A. Schultheis of Beaverton OR and Dr. William F. Schultheis of San Antonio, TX and a great grandson, Arlo. Survivors include daughters Karen Allen (Tom) of Seffner, FL, Katherine Ferretti (Lew) of Jamestown, Robin Breland (Russell) of Archdale, Laura Jeffreys (Dick) of Graham, and Tracy Hodge (Dennis) of Emerald Isle. He is also survived by seven grandsons, four granddaughters, and ten great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Bob was a past member of the Jamestown Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in High Point, serving as a Sunday School teacher, on the church council and in many other capacities ever since moving to Jamestown.
A Celebration of Life service for both Bob and Merlyn is scheduled for Saturday, June 17th at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church followed by the gathering of friends and family in the Fellowship Hall.
