THOMASVILLE-Roger Dale Causey, 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 4, 2018.
He was born on April 2, 1947 in High Point, to the late John and Ada Moore Causey, and he had been a resident of this area all of his life. He worked for Arthur A. Oliver & Sons, and retired after 50 years of service. Roger was a long time member of Hughes Grove Baptist Church; where he was a former Deacon, had taught Sunday school and had been involved with the bus ministry. He enjoyed fishing, going to work, telling jokes and classic cars. His true love and passion was going to church and spending time with his family. Roger was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and brother in-law and will be missed dearly.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife of 51 plus years, Shirley Roberts Causey; his sister, Connie Causey and her companion, Jim Stimmel; his brother, Bill Causey and his companion, Karen Smith; his nieces, Angela Cook, Sharon Cook, Amanda Long and her husband, Dail, Erin Robinson and her husband, Bernard; 6 great nieces; 4 great nephews and 1 great- great niece. Also surviving are his sister in-law, Joyce Conner and his aunt, Sandra Moore.
A service to celebrate Roger’s life will be held on Thursday, March 8, at 2 pm, at Hughes Grove Baptist Church, with Dr. John Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 7, from 6 until 8 pm, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
