Roger "Kay" Cooper

SOPHIA-Roger “Kay” Cooper, 75, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 5, 2019.

He was born on September 15, 1943 in Randolph County, to the late Bryce and Mary Crotts Cooper. A resident of this area all of his life, Kay's true love and passion was spending time with his family; especially with his grandchildren. He was married to the love of his life Barbara Vestal on April 13, 1963. She preceded him in death in 2008. In addition to his parents and wife, preceding him in death were an infant son, Donald Cooper, and a grandson, David Walker.

He is survived by his children, Tammy Hill and husband, Adam, Melinda Dement, Joe Walker and wife, Carneal; his grandchildren, Cassie Hill, Brandon Graham, Holden Hill, Lisa McNeil and husband, Clinton; his great grandchildren, Sierra McNeil, and Kaitlyn McNeil.

A service to celebrate Kay’s life will be held on Thursday afternoon, January 10, at 2 o’clock, from the graveside in Randolph Memorial Park, with Pastor Bobby Loving officiating. His family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon, from 12:15 until 1:15 at Cumby Family Funeral service in Archdale.
