HAMPSTEAD – Roger Dale Kivett, 76, formerly of High Point went to Heaven on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at his residence.
He was born September 16, 1942, in High Point and was the son of the late Hoyt Grayson and Sarah Myrtle Williamson Kivett. He grew up in High Point and had been a resident of Hampstead for the last thirteen years. He graduated from Allen Jay High School and retired from Viking Fire Protection after 27 years of service. Roger enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and NASCAR racing. In his later years, he picked up many types of arts and crafts.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Santina “Cookie” Louise Lisacchi Kivett; his oldest granddaughter, Sandy Kivett; and sister, Judy Kivett.
Roger is survived by two sons, Richard D. “Rick” Kivett and wife, Tina, of Thomasville and Mike Kivett of Siler City; three grandchildren, Rhyne Kivett, Charlie Kivett and wife, Amanda, and Caitlin Kivett; sister, Martha Rittermeyer of Thomasville; brother, Charlie Kivett of Archdale; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service celebrating Roger’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 12, 2019, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Pastor Tim Huffman officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 PM Sunday, at the funeral home prior to the service.
