RANDLEMAN – Roland Lee Andrews, 73, died Monday, June 17, 2019, at Trellis Supportive Care in Winston-Salem.
He was born May 15, 1946, in High Point and was the son of the late Fred Lee and Ruby Bundy Andrews. Roland proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a land surveyor for many years and a member of Cedar Square Friends Meeting. He loved watching his grandchildren playing their various sports and spending time with them. Roland was a Cubmaster and Scout Master for the General Greene Council in the New Market area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Mary Lou Hinshaw Andrews.
Roland is survived by his children, Brian Andrews and wife, Tia, of Asheville and Nicole Hurt and husband, Joe, of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren, DeAnna Andrews, Tesia Lawrence, Miranda Keith, Preston Keith, Ryne Osborne, Emma Hurt, and Morgan Hurt; and one great-grandson, Zoda Lawrence.
Funeral service celebrating Roland’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 22, 2019, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Mike Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Square Friends Meeting Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 9:45 to 10:45 AM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
