Ronald R. "Ron" Carter

ARCHDALE- Ronald R. “Ron” Carter, 81, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 26, 2018.
He was born on December 10, 1936 in Wise County, VA, to the late Worley and Roxie Osborne Carter. He was a veteran of the US Navy Reserves, proudly serving for 12 years. A resident of this area most of his life, he was a retired business owner (Resort Furnishings Broker, Inc.), and was a member of Joy Community Fellowship, (formerly First Baptist Church of Archdale). Ron enjoyed motorcycles and cars, fishing, grilling, and taking things apart (LOL). His true love and passion was spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, and will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were two brothers, Lionel and Joseph Carter. On May 25, 1967, he was married to the former Barbara “Bobbie” Parks, she survives of the home.
Also surviving are his children, Frank Carter, Cinda Carter, Rene Carter Whitesell and her husband, Ronni, Lisa Anderson and her husband, Rich, Kristi Whittington and her husband, Scott, and Shawn Carter; his brother, Eddie Carter; his grandchildren, Matthew Marsh, Ashley Gearles and her husband, Jessie, Connor Whittington, Samantha Whittington, Austin Whitesell, Jenna Roth and her husband, Josh; his great grandchildren, Madison, Jacob, Ethan, Little Jess, Paul, and Lucas.
Ron’s family will receive friends on Saturday evening, September 29th, from 5 until 7 o’clock, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. A service to celebrate Ron’s life will be held on Sunday afternoon, September 30th, at 3 o’clock, from the graveside at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, VA.
