Mrs. Rose Mary Ruth Payne, 74, resident of Kernersville, died January 8, 2021 at Hospice Home at High Point.
She was born December 6, 1946 in High Point, a daughter to William J. and Frances Wyre Ruth. As a resident of this area all her life, she was employed by Jiffy Manufactoring (Seal Air Corp.) for 40 years and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She also attended Appalachian St. University. Rose Mary loved working in her flowers and in the yard, as well as traveling with her friends. More than anything, she loved her family and friends and was always willing to help whenever needed.
On February 14, 1970, she married John Roger Payne who survives of the residence. Also surviving is her mother, Frances Wyre Ruth; two sisters-in-law, Jean Payne Day and Debbie Payne (Steve); a special niece, Tamela “Tammy” Day; and special cousins and long-time special friends, Robert and Pat Hepler and Steve and Debbie Campbell.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 11, at Abbott’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Heath Faircloth officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 10, at the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
