Ruth Frances (Medlin) Andrews

Ruth Frances Medlin Andrews, 94 of High Point went to heaven October 16, 2019.  Born August 18, 1925 she is a daughter of the late William Raymond Medlin and Lillie Mae Lawson Medlin.  In September of 1945 she married Roy William Andrews, Sr. who predeceased her in 2001.  Mrs. Andrews was a lifelong member of Northwood United Methodist Church.  She was employed by High Point City Schools and she loved serving the children. 

She is survived by daughters, Kay Starrett (John); Ann McCarthy (Gary) and son Roy William Andrews, Jr. (Sharyn).  She is also survived by grandchildren Leslie Baker (Kevin),  Gary McCarthy, II, Julie McCarthy, Sara Britt Grein, Caitlin Andrews and great grandchildren; Ryan, Lauren, William, Noah, Libby and Dalton.  Also surviving are a number of relatives in both the Andrews and Medlin families that she treasured.

She loved Big Roy, her grands and great grands, NASCAR racing and the Atlanta Braves.

Graveside services for Mrs. Andrews will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at Floral Garden Memorial Park with the Reverend Roland Cavanaugh officiating.  The family will greet friends Saturday from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Hospice Home at High Point, 1803 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC  27262 or the American Cancer Society.
