Ruth Underwood Connor

THOMASVILLE-Ruth Underwood Connor, 94, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.

She was born on September 9, 1923 in Thomasville, to the late Henry and Mamie Ridge Underwood. A resident of this area all of her life, she was a homemaker and was a member of Trinity Heights Wesleyan Church for 68 plus years. Ruth enjoyed going to the flea market and selling, and traveling with her friends; especially to the mountains.  Her true love and passion was spending time with her family; whether they were canning vegetables, cooking a meal or going to the beach together. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and  will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her husband, Glenn Connor;, her sister, Ethel White and a brother, Clifford Underwood.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her daughters, Maxine Sechrest and her husband Larry, Glenda Thornton and her husband Billy; her granddaughters, Lorie Sechrist and her husband Todd, Wendy Ruth Queen, and Sherry Sechrest, and 7 great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held on Saturday, February 10, at 2 pm, at Trinity Heights Wesleyan Church with Reverend Crawford Crenshaw and Reverend Harold Shives officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm at the church.
