THOMASVILLE- Mary Ruth Miller Madden, 90, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023, at Piedmont Crossing.
She was born July 30, 1933, in Wilkes County, a daughter of the late Jonas and Margaret Shepard Miller. She retired from Henredon Furniture, Schoonbeck Division, in High Point. She attended Hope 4 U Church. Ruth enjoyed working in her yard that she kept immaculate; particularly tending to her flowers. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandson and great grandson. She will be remembered as a Christian woman who was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband of 63 years, Donald Reuben Madden; her sisters, Verlie Askins, Rebecca Blevins, Retha Privette, Edna Miller, Pansy Jones, Mae Parsons and three brothers, Buster Miller, Gilbert Miller and Hurby Miller.
She is survived by her sons, Rick Madden (Donna) of High Point and Jeff Madden (Linda) of Trinity, her brother, Grant Miller of Belmont. Also surviving are her grandson, Steven Madden and a great grandson, William Madden.
Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, at Floral Garden Mausoleum Chapel, with Pastor Roger Carmichael officiating. Her family will greet friends following the service.
