Sarah Louise Stephenson Brock

Sarah Louise Stephenson Brock, 68, passed away Thursday June 6, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem surrounded by her loving family.

A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held Sunday June 9, 2019 at Cumby Family Funeral Service Archdale Chapel with Reverend Todd Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:45 p.m.-1:45 p.m. prior to the service.

A High Point native, Sarah was born August 20, 1950 the daughter of C.J. Stephenson and Ida Mae Campbell Stephenson. Sarah was a 1968 graduate of High Point Central High School and attended UNC-G. She was of the Baptist faith and a long time employee the Thomasville Emporium and High Point Junior League.

She was a Red Cross volunteer at the dental clinic at Elmendorf Air Force Base in AK and was a tutor teaching English to the Korean wives at Fort Bragg.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Sarah is survived by her loving husband Gary Wayne Brock whom she married June 14, 1970 of the home; brothers, Michael Stephenson (Barbara) of High Point and Jimmy Stephenson (Rayma) of Colfax; sister-in-law Barbara Parham of Hickory; brother-in-law Harold Brock of Archdale; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sarah was a loving wife and friend. She was always kind and gentle and never complained during her illness. In addition she enjoyed working in her flowers, gardening and her pets. Sarah also enjoyed bargain hunting at thrift stores and making delicious pickles.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Randolph County Animal Shelter, 1370 County Land Road, Randleman, NC 27367.
