THOMASVILLE – Sarah Irene Hubbard Haynes Williams, 97, died Friday, September 18, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born June 1, 1923, in Jamestown and was the daughter of the late George A. and Carrie Boggs Hubbard. Irene was a devoted and faithful homemaker and was a phenomenal cook and baker. She loved children and kept young children for family members for many years. She was also a member of Faith Baptist Church in Trinity.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Otis Haynes; son, Jerry Lee Haynes; three grandchildren, Timmy Haynes, Cindy Earnhardt and Anthony Haynes; and nine siblings.
Irene is survived by her husband of 54 years, Donald “Don” Ray Williams; daughters, Donna Williams Oberacker of High Point, Theresa Williams Brewer (Bill) of Greenbank, WA and Brenda Gail Williams of Oak Harbor, WA; stepson, T.R. Miller (Lindsey) of Trinity; special nephew, Alan Hubbard; grandchildren, Renee Haynes Magni (Larry), Karen Haynes, Kristin Clodfelter, Lissa Brewer, Uriah Hill, Sharon Haynes, Sibyl Newsom, Adam Haynes, Alan Haynes and Samantha Henderson; grandson-in-law, Shane Earnhardt; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Graveside service celebrating Irene’s life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Mickey Briles officiating.
