Shana T. Cheek-Johnson, 42, of Winston-Salem, passed away August 8, 2018. She was born June 4, 1976, in High Point, and was a graduate of High Point University. Shana was a Senior Account Executive at Payroll Solutions for over 15 years. A living angel, Shana was kind, giving, unselfish and always looking out for others. Her beautiful smile would light up any room. She had a strong faith and was a life-time member of Zion United Church of Christ.
Throughout her battle with metastatic breast cancer, Shana encouraged many others and touched countless lives. In October 2017, she co-hosted a fundraiser event in downtown Winston-Salem to raise money for metastatic breast cancer research.
A loving wife, mother, daughter and granddaughter, Shana will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband of ten years, Eric Johnson; daughter, Ziva Johnson; mother, Kathy Cheek; father, Ronnie Cheek; maternal grandmother, Jerry Stanley; paternal grandparents, Colon and Iona Cheek; in-laws, James and Judy Johnson; and many other extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Junior Stanley.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive, High Point, NC. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Zion United Church of Christ, 130 Hasty School Road, Thomasville, NC 27360. Interment will follow in the Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery.
