Sherry Lee (Harrison) Swing

July 4, 1957 ~ September 2, 2021 (age 64) 64 Years Old

Tribute

Sherry Lee Harrison Swing, 64 of Archdale was given her wings Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist-High Point Medical Center.  Born July 4, 1957 in Toledo Ohio she is a daughter of the late Larry Leroy Harrison and Frances Marie Zooman.

Mama, Gammy, Peenee, and Sherry. Many names, but the same incredible woman. She was strong, smart, hilarious, and determined. She loved pushing the envelope and going for more. Mama worked so hard her entire life, never content doing a “woman’s work”; that was until she injured her shoulders. She had a hard time accepting that her new norm wouldn’t include the extraneous back-breaking labor anymore. She soon found a new purpose, and one that was more rewarding than any 9a-5p, or with Mama more like 6a-2p. She was a full-time Gammy and wife. She was the most reliable Gammy ever and would do anything she could to help. Whether it was to rescue a granddaughter who was in trouble at home or be at the front of the car rider line; Mama was always there. During remote learning when school was closed, Mama held “Gammy’s School of Excellence”. She was incredible and there is no way we would have survived that time without her. If she wasn’t with her kids or grandkids, she was seeking the next camping adventure with her best friend and husband. She loved riding up through the mountains or down to Ocean Lakes. Day trips, weekend getaways, or multiple days away; she loved when the two of them could spend their “special” time together. Whether it was riding and listening to music or doing the many other things they enjoyed, it made her happy. There is no amount of time that will ever erase the incredible memories she has given us, and we can only look forward to the day we can sit in heaven and reminisce with her once more. To say she is missed is a huge understatement. When she left us, she took a hunk of our hearts with her. She did promise that if she left us, she would always visit; we have no doubt that she will keep that promise.

Sherry is survived by her husband Philip Swing of the home, one son Dakota Stutts of Trinity and daughter Shannon Bullion and her husband Robert of Sophia.  She is also survived by three step children, Kristin Swing of Archdale, Erica Everhart and her husband Thomas of Lexington, Aryn Harb and her husband Adam of Trinity, nine grandchildren, Madison, McKenna, Maevry, Jayden, Bella, Waylon, Presley, Everette, Garrett and a brother Gary Harrison of Lexington.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
