HIGH POINT – Shirley Cleo Routh Holder, 73, died Monday, April 8, 2019, at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro. Shirley was disabled from a stroke in 2006 and her health declined in December 2018.
She was born January 7, 1946, in Guilford County and was a daughter of the late Kernie Lee and Bertie Ruth Hill Routh. She was a member of the Allen Jay High School Class of 1964 which was always and forever dear to her. She was a retired administrative assistant from Jefferson-Pilot Insurance Company and following retirement worked with Lowe’s Foods for several years. She was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed ACC basketball, especially the Tarheels.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Faith Scism, Anne Harrell, and Christine Jordan; and a brother, Gene Routh.
Shirley is survived by her sister, Sue Routh Stroud of Archdale; brothers, Curtis Routh (Jean) of Trinity and Carl Routh of High Point; brother-in-law, A.B. Jordan of Thomasville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service celebrating Shirley’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 11, 2019, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at the funeral home.

Also, special thanks goes out to Mr. & Mrs. Jeff Moore, along with the Johnson “kids” who all showed love and attention to Ms. Holder over the last few years.
