HIGH POINT – Shirley Belle Shives Millikan, 75, died Sunday, May 6, 2018, at her residence.
She was born June 24, 1942, in High Point and was the daughter of the late Walter Shives and Vialee Whitfield Shives Moore. She was a retired office manager with Dr. Alan Ginsburg, Optometrist, in High Point following thirty-two years of service. She was loved by many friends and was grateful for their friendship and support.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Rabon Millikan, on October 1, 1993, and a sister, Naomi “Sister” Marsh.
Shirley is survived by her four children, C. Jeff Millikan and his wife, Marianne of Asheboro, R. Scott Millikan and his wife, Cindy of Greensboro, Tim Millikan and his wife, Sheri, of Asheboro, and Shannon M. Moffitt and her husband, Stephen, of Archdale; nine grandchildren, Meredith Millikan, Kendyl McCaskill and her husband, Aaron, Thomas Millikan and his wife, Megan, Tanner Millikan, Brooke Jenkins and her husband, Mitch, Jake Millikan and his wife, Vannia, Olivia Millikan, Trace Moffitt and Avery Moffitt; five great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Rylynn, Luke, Adrian, and Elijah; and two brothers, Darrell Shives and his wife, Pat, and Roby Shives, both of High Point.
Funeral service celebrating Shirley’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 10, 2018, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, May 9, 2018.
