Spencer LeRoy Moon Jr.

Mr. Spencer LeRoy Moon Jr., 76, resident of High Point, died January 12, 2018 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

Spencer was born February 23, 1941 in West Chazy, NY, a son to the late Rev. Spencer Moon Sr. and Dorothy Blake Moon.  He was a resident of this area since 1964 and had worked as owner of Kimble Auto Glass.  In addition to a career dedicated to Kimble, he also had a lifelong love of woodworking.  Spencer was a member of Greenwood Hills Wesleyan Church and was a selfless giver of time to his church family and friends.  His only sin was pride for his grandchildren.  In 1966 he married the former Brenda Kimble who survives of the residence.

Also surviving are two sons, Shawn Moon and wife Tia of Charlotte and Brandon Moon and wife Kristen of High Point; a brother, Fred Moon of Travelers Rest, SC; and five grandchildren, Tannoch, Drakken, Jackson, Brenna and Jensen.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Hills Wesleyan Church with Rev. Matt Mitchell officiating.  Since he can’t be buried on his beloved mountain property in Lansing, NC, his interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Greenwood Hills Wesleyan Church Capital Campaign Fund, 2937 N. Main St. High Point, NC, 27265.
