Stacy Lee Johnson went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday afternoon, March 14, 2018.
He was born to the late Moses and Della Johnson on October 22, 1932 in Harnett County. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers; Jennings Blake "JB", Charles, Moses, Roy and sisters Pauline & Evelyn and the mother of six of his children, Gaye Howard Johnson.
Stacy graduated from Dunn High School in 1951. Stacy was awarded a football scholarship from Elon College. He served as President of his Freshman and Senior Classes and is a Letterman Football Club member. After graduating in 1955 with a BA in English, Stacy worked at General Motors for 15 years as a Field Representative, Credit Manager and District Manager. After serving as President of the High Point Jaycees he went on to work as the Executive Vice President of the NC Jaycees. He later worked in the Real Estate and Insurance Industries for over 20 years. After retirement Stacy loved working his part time contract job for United States Postal Service.
Stacy was a volunteer coach for many years with the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, and High Point Recreation Department. Stacy is member of Green Street Baptist Church.
Stacy's legacy is the unconditional love he bestowed upon his family and shared with all who met him and that positive attitude, infectious smile and thumbs up.
Stacy is survived by the love of his life of 40 years, Kaye Fields Johnson; 9 children, Sammy Johnson (Linda), Ronny Johnson (Anne), Timmy Johnson (Kem), Amber Fitzgerald (Joe), Eve Roser (John JR), Lisa Pennisi (Sal), Debi Hutner (Mike), Jennifer Brown (Ansley) and Ashley Puckett (Rodney); 18 Grandchildren, Sam Johnson, John Roser Ill, Kelly Johnson, Justin Roser, Matt Johnson, Kaity Johnson, Will Johnson, Blake Hassebrock, Bryce Fain, Dillon Roser, Tessa Johnson, Emily Gregory, Todgie Brown, Kaylee Hutner, Abigail Brown, Ashlynn Hutner, Hayden Hutner and Jacob Puckett; and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Donald Johnson (Dodo), two sisters, Patricia Hardison and Jean Webb (Jimmy) and sister-in law Martha Johnson.
A Celebration of Life service will be 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Green Street Baptist Church, 303 N Rotary Drive, High Point, with Reverend Brandon Ware officiating. There will be a private burial at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 1:30 until 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the church.
