HIGH POINT – Steve Edward Mashburn, 68, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at High Point Medical Center.
He was born May 15, 1952 in Swain County and was the son of Clova Lee Mashburn and the late Odell Mashburn. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church and a supervisor with Leggett & Platt, Inc. Steve was good man who would do anything for anyone, and he had a funny and likeable personality which made him well-known and loved by many. He was a man of faith who loved his Lord and loved his family, especially cherishing his wife. Steve also enjoyed watching and playing sports and loved his cats who were part of his family.
Steve is survived by his wife, Ellen Jordan Mashburn, whom he married on June 29, 1979; mother, Clova Lee Mashburn of Trinity; brothers, Gary Mashburn (Diane) and James Mashburn, both of Trinity, Jerry Mashburn (Peggy) of Randleman and Dale Mashburn (Libby) of Thomasville, and Dean Mashburn (Jennifer) of Pawleys Island, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service celebrating Steve’ life will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 18, 2021 at Landmark Baptist Church with Pastors Amos Mashburn and Rodney Hedrick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will speak with friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM Monday at the church prior to the service.
