TRINITY – Steven Jerome Boucher, 54, died Friday, July 9, 2021 at High Point Medical Center.
He was born August 26, 1966 in Springfield, Illinois and was the son of the late Joseph C. and Mary Finkes Boucher. He grew up in Grafton, Illinois and was of the Catholic faith. Steven was a twenty year veteran of the U.S. Army obtaining the rank of Sergeant First Class and was a member of the 82nd Airbourne Division. He was a Desert Storm/Desert Shield Veteran and served two tours in Iraq. Following his military service, he worked as a truck driver for Coca-Cola and was currently a driver for Star Food Products in Burlington. Steven fulfilled both of his lifelong dreams – serving his country and driving a truck.
Steven is survived by his wife, Lynne Church Boucher, whom he married on July 29, 2011; daughter, Kayla Barnes (Danny) of High Point; son, SSgt. Nicholas Boucher, USAF, of Goldsboro; stepdaughters, Holly Finney (Ryan) of Roanoke, Virginia and Heather Wang (Jay) of San Clemente, California; four grandchildren, Elliot Barnes, Charlotte Barnes, Henley Finney and Isla Wang; brother, Greg Boucher (Shannon); niece, Maddie Boucher; nephew, Zach Boucher, all of Grafton, Illinois; parents-in-law, William “Bill” and Elizabeth Church of Trinity; and his fur babies whom he adored, Bubba, Little Bit, Carmela, Snow and Opie.
Funeral service celebrating Steven’s life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 15, 2021 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 PM Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service. At other times, the family will gather at the home of Lynne’s parents, Bill and Elizabeth Church.
