Susan White Wingfield

TRINITY-Susan White Wingfield, 62, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her loving family and friends on Sunday, March 3, 2019.

She was born on January 5, 1957 in Anniston, Alabama, to the late Gene and Margaret McGee White. A resident of this area most of her life, she was a homemaker and a member of Lights for Christ Ministries, where she had served as Treasurer.  Susan had a caring heart and enjoyed helping people; whether she was delivering meals on wheels in the Archdale/Trinity area, or helping friends in need. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and taking care of her animals. Her true love and passion was spending time with her family; especially cooking for them, or spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was a sister, Louann Workman.

She is survived by her of husband of 42 plus years; Joe Wingfield; her daughter, Sabrina Wilson and her husband, Michael; her son, Joey Wingfield and his fiancé, Erin Byrd; her sister, Brenda Lingerfelt and her husband, Donald, and her grandchildren, Madison, Sean and Keira Wilson, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Wingfield Family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the ICU Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Wake Forest Baptist Health/ High Point Medical Center for the wonderful care of Susan for the past two months.

A service to celebrate Susan’s life will be held on Thursday morning, March 7, at 11 o’clock, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Pastor J.R. Hughart officiating. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, March 6, from 6 until 8 o’clock, at the funeral home.
