ARCHDALE -Tammie Simmons Grant, 56, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 21st, 2018.
She was born on December 1, 1961 in Mt. Airy, to the late Rex and Carolyn Easter Simmons. A resident of the High Point area most of her life, she worked for the Greensboro News & Record for 10 years. Tammie loved to act silly and make everyone laugh, was an avid reader of the Bible, and enjoyed attending musical performances and festivals. Her true love and passion was spending time with her family; she loved family gatherings and holidays. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 37 plus years, Joe Grant; her daughter, Jennifer Craycraft and husband, Ralph Craycraft III; her sisters, Marcia Turnmire and husband, David, and Holly Simmons Gibson; her grandchildren, Morgan and Natalie Craycraft; and her nieces and nephews, Madison and Austin Turnmire, and Mason and Riley Gibson.
A service to celebrate Tammie’s life will be held on Monday morning, June 25th, at 11 o’clock, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Pastor Roger Carmichael officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Sunday evening, June 24th, from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
