Thelma Jean (Reavis) Hendren

Mrs. Thelma Jean Reavis Hendren, 84, of Trinity, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017, at her residence.
Born October 23, 1932, in Wilkes County, Thelma was the daughter of the late Joseph Andrew and Nora Naomi Estep Reavis. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Herron Hendren, Sr.; four brothers, John, Andy, Joe and Walter Reavis; and six sisters, Nell Braxton, Mildred Berrier, Rose Harvell, Jettie Reavis, Dorotha Reavis, and Margaret Reavis. Thelma was a former member of Christ Wesleyan Church, where she served as leader of the Friends and Neighbors for 20 years. She was most recently a member of Archdale Wesleyan Church. She was retired from Spring Garden Florist where she designed floral arrangements and directed weddings. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include her two sons, J. Herron Jr., of Leland, and Reavis Hendren and wife, Paula, of Trinity; two grandchildren, Jason Hendren and wife, Deborah, and Jessica Miller and husband, Kennith; five great grandchildren, Kirk, Tristen, and Justin Miller, and Leah and Jordan Hendren; and two sisters, Sadie Testerman and Ada Rayle.
Funeral will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Archdale Friends Meeting, officiated by Pastor Ron R. Jones and Pastor Keith Carroll. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:45 in the fellowship hall. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Bethany Church Cemetery, in Moravian Falls, officiated by Pastor Vincent Adams.
