Thomas Charles Drenan

Thomas Charles Drenan, Sr., 91, died Thursday, September 28, 2017 at RiverLanding at Sandy Ridge.  Born December 14, 1925 in Middletown, NY he was a son of the late Sprague Warner Drenan and Dorothy Cook Drenan. Mr. Drenan married his high school sweetheart Norma in 1948; they were preparing to celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary on Monday.  He was a World War II veteran, having served as a signalman in the US Navy. Mr. Drenan’s degree in chemistry led to a career with DuPont that took his family to Ohio, Iowa, Delaware, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Luxembourg and Germany.  In retirement Tom and Norma enjoyed sailing their Morgan 41 sailboat throughout the Caribbean and along the US eastern coast.

He is survived by his wife Norma, of Colfax, and three children: Tom  Drenan, Jr. and wife Cindy of Pleasant Garden, NC; Peter Drenan and wife Sarah of Reston, VA; and Claudia Drenan of Raleigh.  Also surviving are three grandchildren, Sherry Martin and husband John; Joshua Drenan; and Julia Fazio and husband Mike.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Thomas Charles Drenan, Sr. will be held 11:00 am Monday in the Multipurpose Room at RiverLanding at Sandy Ridge.  The family will greet friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC  27262
