Thomas Wesley "Tommy" Payne, Jr.

SOPHIA- Thomas Wesley “Tommy” Payne, Jr., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 13, 2021.

He was born on February 17, 1956 in Albany, NY, the son of the late Thomas and Miriam Lahti Payne. A resident of the Sophia area for 15 years, he worked for Braxton Culler. Tommy enjoyed fishing; especially at the coast and spending time with his dogs, Prissie and Snowball. His true love and passion was his family; particularly his grandchildren. Tommy never met a stranger, and he was always putting others needs before his own. He loved his family and friends and will be dearly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Thomas Wesley Payne III and Holly McNally and her husband, Charles; his sisters, Barbara, Margaret, Beverly, Kathryn, Dolly, Jinny and Pauline and his grandchildren, Brooke, Zachary, Domenik and Tessa.

A gathering of friends and family to share memories about Tommy will be held on Sunday afternoon, July 18, from 2 until 4 p.m., at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
