Thomas "Tommy" Oscar Cromer

TRINITY – Thomas “Tommy” Oscar Cromer, 87, died Sunday, May 21, 2023, at High Point Medical Center.

He was born January 22, 1936, in Archdale and was the son of the late Solomon Paul and Margaret McCoy Cromer. He retired from Drexel Heritage Furniture where he worked as an upholsterer and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Community Church where he served on the Cemetery Committee. Tommy was avid fisherman, especially enjoying surf fishing, and he loved to sing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Dewey Cromer, Lonnie Cromer and Raymond Cromer.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Doris Ennis Cromer, whom he married on July 3, 1954; two children, Teresa Johnson (John) and Tony Cromer, both of Trinity; four grandchildren, Christy Alley (Will) of Lewisville, Amanda Austin (Daniel) of Archdale, Kellie Resor (Justin) and Jennifer Simmons (Jordan), both of Trinity; eight great-grandchildren; nephew, Rocky Cromer of Silver Valley; and his beloved dog, Rambo.

Funeral service celebrating Tommy’s life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May 26, 2023, at Mt. Pleasant Community Church in Trinity with Pastor Bryan Rush officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 PM Friday at the church prior to the service.
