TRINITY- Thomas Henry “Tom” Dixon, Jr., 58, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.
He was born on July 8, 1962 in Greensboro, son of the late Thomas and Joyce Faulkner Dixon. A resident of this area all his life, he was a 1980 graduate of Southern Guilford High School. He began his career with his dad in welding and pipe fitting and later worked with Mickey Truck Body Company, as long as his health permitted. Tom enjoyed fishing; especially at Core Banks, NC, telling jokes, and facts about looking for Bigfoot. He was highly intelligent and had a passion for holistic health and nature, and was working on a cure for his heart disease which he was diagnosed with in 2005. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and uncle, and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years; Sharon Long Dixon; his sister, Lisa Oliphant and her husband, Keith; his brother, Eddie Dixon and his wife, Elaine. He is also survived by his step son, Jason Whitt; his grandchildren, Jason and Jaylynn Whitt and many special cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A service to celebrate Tom’s life will be held on Saturday, September 12, at 12:00 p.m., in the Mausoleum chapel, at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery, with Ken Gibson officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the Mausoleum chapel.
