Mrs. Patricia (Trish) McLaurin Douglass, 74, resident of Jamestown, died January 12, 2018 at Pennybyrn at Maryfield.

Trish was born August 23, 1943 in Mansfield, LA, a daughter to the late John McLaurin Jr. and Margaret Pattison McLaurin.  She was a graduate of LSU and worked as an elementary school teacher in Dallas, TX.  After moving to this area in 1983, she became a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church.  While at the church, she served as membership secretary and was a member of the Bob Rooks Sunday School Class.  Trish also was a member of the Modern Book Club and loved to read, as well as garden and play tennis.  On January 22, 1967 she married Don Madison Douglass who survives of the residence.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Scott Douglass and wife Anne of Summerfield; a daughter, Sarah Coward and husband Brian of Thomasville; a brother, John C. McLaurin III and wife Arie of Shreveport, LA; two sisters, Anne Simpson and husband Wayne of Shreveport, LA and Margaret Loftin of Garland, TX; and six grandchildren, Megan Coward, Emily Coward, Sara Gray Douglass, Katherine Douglass, Elizabeth Douglass and Lucy Douglass.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Jamestown United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Latimer and Rev. Jim Watford officiating.  A private interment will be held prior to the service at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.  Following the memorial service, a reception will be held in the church fellowship hall.  Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.
