Robert Tyler Stokely, 51, of Jamestown, NC, passed away, Saturday, May 20, 2023, after an extended illness. Born on July 15, 1971, in Durham, NC, son of Robert “Bob” Stokely and the late Mary Ann Overton Stokely.
Tyler graduated from Ragsdale High School in Jamestown and proudly served in the United States Navy for two years before receiving his honorable discharge. Tyler was employed by Old Dominion Freight Lines for many years prior to his illness. His passions in life included music, gardening, fishing, playing guitar, cooking, hanging out with his best friend Ricky, and most of all being with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Angela Johnson Stokely; daughter, Marianne Stokely; parents, Bob and Deborah Stokely; bonus kids, Brooklyn Owen (Mike) of Clemmons, NC, Austin Hunt (Melissa) of High Rock Lake, NC; grandchildren, Olivia Owen, Forrest Owen; sisters, Stephanie Wyche (Tad) of Goochland, VA, Catherine Frye (Chad) of Holly Springs, NC; nieces and nephews, Field and Ruth Wyche, William and Jackson Frye; serenity sisters, Judy Reynolds (Terry), Trish Blankenship (Michael) of Myrtle Beach, SC; and many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of Tyler’s life will be held at 3:00 PM, on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Jamestown under the picnic shelter.
