Vickie Sue (Thomas) Mooney

Vickie Sue Thomas Mooney, 72, of High point passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at WFBH – High Point Medical Center.

Vickie was born October 5, 1946 in Guilford County to the Late Buford Leon Thomas and Dorothy Lee Heath Thomas.  In addition to her parent she was preceded in death in 2011 by her husband, David Daniel Mooney; sister, Brenda Medearis and son-in-law, Jason Turner.

Vickie loved spending time with and enjoying the company of her family.  She also enjoyed a peaceful time of fishing and planting flowers in her garden.

Those who will cherish Vickie’s memories are her son, James Thomas and wife, Leslie of Thomasville; daughters, Katherine Thomas of Lexington, Jennifer Turner of Jamestown; sisters, Jean and Betty; grandchildren, Tyler, Kayla, Joshua, Kaitlyn, Austin, Alyssa and Shaelyn.  She will also be missed by her many dear friends.

To honor Vickie’s life the family will greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive in High Point.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 W. Gate City Blvd. in Greensboro.
