Sophia – Mrs. Vivian Louise Nelson Osborne, 88, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019, at the Hospice of the Piedmont, in High Point.
Born December 1, 1930, in High Point, Vivian was the daughter of the late Ralph and Elah Sapp Nelson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bobby Osborne, and two sisters, Betty Johnson and Bonnie Brown. Vivian graduated from Hasty High School where she was a member of the Beta Club. She was retired from Kayby Hosiery in Thomasville, and was a member of Archdale Church of Nazarene. She enjoyed working in her garden and traveling to the beach.
Vivian is survived by her daughters, Sherri Goins and husband, Richard, and Karen Beeson; two brothers, Bobby Nelson and wife, Lynn and Bill “Fuzzy” Nelson; sister, Brenda Nelson Hedgecock and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Christopher Barnett, Traci Lawson and husband, Joseph, Dara Ringel and husband, Kevin, and Brandi Kerns and husband, Cary; eight great-grandchildren Harley, Hailey, Michael, Conan, Samuel, Savannah, Julia and Isabella; one great-great-grandchild, Serenity; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2019, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, in Archdale, officiated by Rev. Tommy Thompson and Rev. David Johnson. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday morning from 10:00 until 10:45 at the funeral home.
