Mr. Volley Edmund “Mickey” Rhodes, 63, of Trinity, passed away Monday, July 30, 2018, at his residence.
Born March 5, 1955, in Conway, SC, Mickey was the son of the late Alford and Grace McPherson Rhodes. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Willard Rhodes, and a sister, Patricia Hewitt. Mickey was a veteran of the Army National Guard, and was retired from Hendrix Batting. He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar with his family, and also at church.
On March 30, 1973, Mickey married his beloved wife and soulmate, Betty Steed Rhodes, who survives of the home. Also surviving are two daughters, Teresa Rhodes, Christy Donald and husband, Chip; one son, Josh Rhodes and fiancée, Courtney Shore; two grandchildren, Carissa Donald and Michael Oak; two great grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 3rd, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, officiated by Rev. Gary D. Blakely. Interment with military honors will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
