Walter Lewis Freeman of High Point went to join his wife Kitty in heaven on April 2, 2021. He was born December 30, 1927 in Allendale, South Carolina to Lonnie and Pearl Freeman.
Mr. Freeman was a resident of High Point his entire life. He served in the Navy during World War II where he was stationed in Guam, in the North Pacific. He was honorably discharged and returned home to High Point where he met and married Catherine C. (Kitty) Frazier. He was a truck driver with several different freight lines. In the mid-fifties he was in the High Point Police Department. He was very much liked by friends and neighbors. He never failed to help his neighbor. He will be missed.
He was the father of two sons, Terry Gray Freeman (deceased) and David Michael Freeman and his wife Denise of High Point. He has several nieces and nephews residing in Florida and North Carolina.
Funeral services for Mr. Freeman will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
