Walter Harold Stanley Jr.

Once in a lifetime you meet someone who is everybody’s best friend.  A contagious laugh and personality. Walter Harold Stanley, Jr. left this earth to be with his heavenly family on Sunday, November 5, 2017.

Born February 10, 1954 in High Point, Walter was the son of Walter Harold Stanley, Sr. and Vera Monroe Stanley. Being a lifelong member of the Archdale-Trinity area, Walter graduated from Trinity High School and attended Western College.  Walter began a career in mechanics along with his father before establishing a path in insurance.  Walter owned and operated Archdale Insurance Planning since 1985.  He served not only as a community leader, but as a friend to all he met.

Walter served as a member and Deacon of Trindale Baptist Church.  He also served many years as a board member to Guil-Rand Fire Department and the Archdale-Trinity Chamber.  He was a long standing member and participated weekly with the High Point Senior Golf Association.  Walter not only enjoyed playing golf, but he also had a love for the outdoors.  He spent many days hunting and fishing with his buddies and two sons.  Always a competition to see who could “catch the most fish”.  Walter truly enjoyed spending time with friends and family and touched many hearts on his journey of life. Ephesians 2:8, For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Walter was blessed with Joshua Ryan Stanley on December 3, 1979, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his father.

He received a second blessing, Justin Heath Stanley of Trinity on June 21, 1982. On October 2, 1993, Walter married the former Meg Stephenson, who survives of the home. On May 4, 2000, Owen Bailey Stanley came into this world to be Walter’s final gift. So blessed to have had this life together and the three precious boys that had the privilege to call him dad. Walter is also survived by his mother Vera Monroe Stanley, of Trinity

Funeral service will be Thursday, November 16th at 2:00pm, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, officiated by Rev. Tony Moore. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 15th 6:00pm-9:00pm at the funeral home.
