Wanda Cox McMahan

JAMESTOWN - Wanda Cox McMahan, 81, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

She was born on October 11, 1939 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Arvil and Faye Shelly McMahan. A resident of this area all her life, she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and a former member of Springfield Baptist Church. Wanda enjoyed going to church, listening to gospel music; especially traveling with her late husband, J.D. McMahan to hear him sing with the Kings Travelers. Her true love and passion were spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed

In addition to her parents and husband, preceding her in death was her sons, Mike and Dwayne McMahan; and stepgrandson, T.W. Hood.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her grandchildren, Jason McMahan and his wife, Whitney,  and their son, Jameson, A.J. McMahan and his wife, Ruth, Karen Redmon and her husband, Eddie and their children, Cody, Kaitlyn, Logan and Skylar; and daughters-in-law, Gail McMahan and Cindy Hood and her husband, Terry.

A service to celebrate Wanda’s life will be held on Friday, January 29, at 2 p.m., at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with Pastor Roy Green and Pastor Bobby Loving officiating.

A committal service will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Friday, from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m., at the funeral home.
