Wanda Gail (Livengood) Nelson

ARCHDALE – Wanda Gail Livengood Nelson, 71, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at High Point Medical Center.

She was born July 29, 1949 in Pinehurst and was the daughter of the late Clyde Herman Livengood, Sr. and Phyllis Brown Livengood. Wanda was a member of Archdale Church of the Nazarene where she served in the nursery ministry. She retired from the City of High Point following thirty years of service and also enjoyed working at the flea market and fishing.

Wanda is survived by her husband, Carlton Dewitt Nelson, whom she married on October 11, 1968; son, Chris Nelson (Cathy); two grandchildren, Calyn Nelson and Camden Nelson, all of Archdale; sisters, Jane Womack (Ted) of Jamestown and Melissa Skeen (Ricky) of Archdale; brother, Clyde Livengood, Jr. (Johnnie) of Archdale; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service celebrating Wanda’s life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Tommy Thompson officiating.

The family will speak to friends at the cemetery following the service.
