Willard Edwin Kidwell Jr.

Mr. Willard Edwin Kidwell Jr., 91, resident of High Point, died June 15, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Kidwell was born October 27, 1927 in Kentucky, a son to Willard E. Kidwell Sr. and Josephine Hughes Kidwell.  After living in Peru as a child, he later moved back to the states, living in both Ohio and Michigan.  He attended the University of Detroit and NCR Computer Training School, later becoming an engineer and teacher in computer technonogy.  He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had been a resident of this area since 1970.  In 1950, he married the former Rose Marie Spigarelli who preceded him in death in 2015.

Surviving is a daughter, Dr. Susan Williford and husband Tim of High Point; a son, David Kidwell and wife Antoinette of Alexandria, VA; a sister, Lida Hail of Middletown, PA; five grandchildren, Lisa Arthur and husband Michael, Michael Williford and wife Katherine, Patrick Williford and wife Katie, Mary Anne Ji and husband Jason and John Kidwell; and two great grandchildren, Lucy and Andrew.  He was a loving father and grandfather whose greatest joy stemmed from his family.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to Covenant Church United Methodist, 1526 Skeet Club Rd. High Point, N.C., 27265 or to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr. High Point, N.C., 27262.
