Bill (William) Edward Tietje was born to Albert Edward and Carolyn Ruth Miller Tietje on June 6th, 1958 in Corning, NY. At age seven Bill’s mother passed away. He was adopted into the family of Christ at Victory Highway Wesleyan Church where he came to know the Lord and was called into His service.
While attending United Wesleyan College in Allentown, PA, Bill was introduced to Beth Emery of Marion, IN by a mutual friend. Their long distance relationship developed and the two were married on December 24, 1982.
Bill began his ministry service at Neighbor’s Grove Wesleyan Church in Asheboro, NC, then moved to Rose Hill, NC to serve at Bethel Wesleyan Church. While in Rose Hill, his sons Matthew and Josh were born.
The Tietje’s then moved to Bristol, SD, where Bill served at Westside Wesleyan Church and welcomed his third son, Ben.
A short season later, the family was off to Miles City, MT, where Bill served at Miles City Wesleyan Church. Then the family returned to North Carolina where he served in three Wesleyan churches in the North Carolina West District: Rockingham, Old Fort, and Mooresville First.
While there, Bill was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. He retired from ministry service in 2014 and he and Beth moved to High Point, NC. Bill was a member of Greenwood Hills Wesleyan Church.
Bill Tietje was a son of God, a faithful husband, a devoted father, a loving papa and a shepherding pastor. His life was an expression of God’s lasting love. An unswerving optimist, Bill wanted everyone to know of the hope that he held in Jesus’ saving grace.
