TRINITY – William “Billy” Lee Morgan, 73, died Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
He was born July 10, 1947 in High Point and was the son of the late Richard Lee and Nellie Stanley Morgan. Billy was a truck driver for forty-two years and retired from Superior Carriers. He was an avid NASCAR fan and worked with the Ed Berrier, Terry Labonte and Justin Labonte Racing Teams driver their car haulers. Billy was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Trinity where he had been active serving the church in a variety of ways. His greatest joy was attending his grandson’s soccer games and his granddaughter’s cheerleading events.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Blackburn; and a brother, Johnny Wayne Morgan.
Billy is survived by his wife, Lee Sheetz Morgan, whom he married on June 26, 1970; daughter, Kristi Morgan Dunn; granddaughter, Erika Lee Dunn, all of Trinity; grandson, Patrick Joseph Dunn V (Ashley Whitehead); great-grandson, Liam Denny, all of Archdale; and three sisters, Cindy Compton, Debra Green and Brenda Hall.
Graveside service celebrating Billy’s life will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery in Trinity with Rev. Tonia Reaves officiating.
The family will speak with friends immediately following the service Wednesday at the cemetery.
