High Point – Mrs. Willie Mary Blalock Whitley, 91, of High Point, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Westwood Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born July 8, 1927, in Albemarle, Willie was the daughter of the late William and Ollie Dry Blalock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Gail Whitley Gladden, and five siblings.

Willie is survived by her husband of 70 years, Garrett “Whit” Whitley; two daughters, Becky Whitley Williams, of High Point, and Sheila M. Whitley, of Greensboro; four grandchildren, Brandy Gladden Grady and husband, Royce, Melissa Williams Brabble and husband, Ed, Cary Gladden Griggs, and Jason Daniel Williams; and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20th, 2019, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point, officiated by Bishop Paul Francis Lanier. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
