Mrs. Wilma Spencer Kersey, resident of High Point, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 10, at Hospice Home of High Point.
Mrs. Kersey was born on March 9, 1923 in Catawba County, a daughter of the late Herbert Leroy Spencer and Myrtle Propst Spencer. She was a long-time employee of Slane Hosiery, working as supervisor for 40 years.
Mrs. Kersey attended Saint Stephens High School in Hickory, NC. She enjoyed all types of puzzles and card games, and talking up a storm with friends. Most importantly, she loved and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving mother by her son and grandson, friends and neighbors.
Mrs. Kersey was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church of High Point, NC, and is now a member of Fountain of Life Lutheran Church in Kernersville, NC.
Mrs. Kersey is survived by her son, Keith Kersey (Nancy) of High Point; sister Margery Cline (Luther) of Taylorsville; and grandson, Spencer Kersey.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kersey is preceded in death by her brothers Adolphus Spencer, Terry Spencer, H. L. Spencer and Rayford Spencer and her sisters, Macy Norris, Emily Christenbury and Fleta Bolick.
Funeral services will be held at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Elliot Lutz will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 13 and from 10:00 – 10:45 A.M. on Friday June 14 at the funeral home.
