Wingate ‘Winn’ Underhill, 70, of Jamestown, passed away June 1, 2018. He was born August 27, 1947, in Greensboro, NC, to the late Alice and Wingate Underhill, Sr. A graduate of Guilford College, Winn later served as Head of Public Works in Jamestown for 30 years. He enjoyed working in his yard and tending his Koi pond; however, his greatest pleasure was eating. He was known as a hot dog connoisseur with ketchup as his favorite condiment.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Kay Underhill; two daughters and their husbands, Stephanie and Rodd Ring and Elizabeth and Josh LeConey; one sister, Becky Hemphill; and four grandchildren, Garrett Ring, Kaitlyn Ring, Tyler LeConey and Ryan LeConey.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00pm on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point. The family will receive friends following the service.
