Barbara Ann (Peterson) Hoover

Mrs. Barbara Ann Peterson Hoover, 70, of High Point, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, at the Hospice Home in High Point.

Born April 20, 1946, in High Point, Barbara was the daughter of the late Howard Dempsey and Ida Mae Samuels Peterson. She graduated from Trinity High School in 1964. She assisted her husband at Diamond Printing doing clerical work. She was also a fitness instructor for Silver Sneakers at the Grubb Family YMCA, and had previously worked in sales for Belk and Dillard of High Point. Barbara had a heart for animals and would take care of any stray that she saw. She also had a love for the arts and would often accompany her son to area art shows.

She is survived by her husband, of 52 years, Ron Hoover, of the home; son Douglas Hoover, of Archdale; and three sisters, Carol Brewer, of Trinity, Lynn McHenry and husband, Earl, of Trinity, and Shirley Parks, of High Point.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, officiated by Rev. Roger Carmichael. The family will receive friends following the service.
