Brian Walker

HIGH POINT - Rodney Brian Walker, 45, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at the Hospice Home of High Point.

He was born June 14, 1972, in High Point and was the son of Frankie Ledford Walker and the late Rodney Franklin Walker.  He received an Associates Degree in Criminology from Guilford Technical Community College and was a former member of Green Street Baptist Church.  He had worked as a bailiff with the Guilford County Sheriff's Department and later worked as a truck driver, prior to his disability retirement.  He was an avid Carolina Tar Heel and Carolina Panthers fan and also enjoyed guns and collecting watches.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Frances Walker; his mother, Frankie Ledford Walker; a brother, Dwayne Walker and his wife, Robin; and a nephew, Joshua Evan Walker, all of High Point.  He is also survived by an honorary brother, Russell Strickland and his wife, Karen, and their children, Amber Strickland and Adam Lanier, of Thomasville.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 17, 2018, in the Life Tribute Center of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
